Growing up as an only child, Nicole Renae generally felt a little lonely in her youth. However, that changed when she turned 10 years old.
For her birthday, Nicole received a gift from her grandmother: a little dog named Chloe. From the beginning, the two were inseparable. “I just loved her to death.” Nicole said, “She was my best friend.”
Over the years, the bond between Nicole and Chloe has grown stronger. “She was such a sweet animal,” said Nicole. “She would lick my face forever if I did not stop her.”
Unfortunately, the relationship between the two friends was interrupted.
When Nicole was 14, her father started working at home, but this came with a devastating warning. The house needed to be turned into an office, with no audible distractions.
“He was warned that we could not have pets,” said Nicole. “We didn’t have a choice, I was just a kid, so I obviously had no choice on the subject.” It was painful, I did not want to get rid of my little dog.”
So the family gave Chloe to a local human society …
“I thought I would never see or hear of her again,” added the woman. “As the years went by, I always thought of her.” Over time the woman grew up, married and had a child of her own, but something was missing in her life.
Knowing the joy of having a dog, Nicole wanted to give the same to her daughter. The woman found a Facebook post on a dog who needed a new home. “I saw her photo and I thought,” This animal looks a little familiar.”
You know what? Her name was Chloe, too. The woman decided to adopt the dog, not realizing that the two were already well familiarized.
“She ran up to me and started licking my face,” she said. “As time passed, all these characteristics only reminded me of my old dog.”
Chloe, it seems, knew her adopted dog was her old dog. “She kept hugging me, I was crying, it reminded me a lot of my Chloe,” said Nicole. “I never thought about seeing my dog again, but I only knew in my heart that it was her.”
“My whole family thought I was crazy,” said Nicole. But, the little dog had been microchipped on a trip to the veterinarian, they realized that it was the same dog. “It was her,” said Nicole. “I literally felt like I had won the lottery, it was just the best feeling, I thought I’d never see it again.”
Reunited with her best friend, Chloe finally got home!
Chloe is now 11 years old, but she’s still as healthy and energetic as Nicole remembered.
What are the chances of that happening? Do not believe in miracles? This story is proof that they exist.
Share this exciting reunion with your friends and family!
