Tania Cappelluti has lived in Costa Rica for several years. Then, after seeing how many dogs and cats were wandering the streets, she joined some locals and founded Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue Costa Rica (CAARCR). Since then, she has helped dozens of animals find loving homes.
Earlier this month, Tania’s fight continued when she arrived in her hometown, Berlin. “This is so unbelievable,” she wrote on Facebook. “I really don’t understand how people can do this to their dog.”
Cappelluti received a message about a dog who was left behind when her family moved.
“They moved away and left their pregnant dog behind,” she wrote. “No food or water. On her own, with a big belly.”
Cappelluti persuaded a neighbor to take the little dog while he discovered what to do… It was a fight against time. The beautiful girl could give birth at any moment!
Fortunately, the help arrived in time and the pregnant dog was called Marie. Wynn Mackey, a retired American who lives in Costa Rica, agreed to take Marie home.
Mercedes Mora, a local seamstress from Costa Rica and one of the founders of CAARCR, took the little dog to Mackey’s house. “He’s a wonderful foster dad.” Cappelluti said.
Mackey built a small special bed, knowing that Marie could give birth at any moment.
Marie was visibly exhausted…
Still, Marie felt safe and loved by her adoptive family and managed to spend several days in a state of relaxation. “She doesn’t eave Wynn’s side!” Cappelluti said.
The expected moment came soon… Last Monday Marie gave birth! “I opened Facebook and there she was smiling at me with seven puppies!” Said Cappelluti.
The loving dog gave birth in Mackey’s bed and everything went as planned.
Fortunately, it turned out all well for the canine family…
When Marie and her puppies are ready, they will all be redirected to loving homes. For now, they just need to eat and rest. Share this emotional story with your friends and family!
