Alfredo’s owner abandoned him in a garbage dump in a small village outside Athens, Greece. Unfortunately, this is very common for dogs in Greece, and it is not new to see dogs roaming the streets.
It is not known how long Alfredo lived in the dump, but things only got worse from there. While searching for food on the streets, Alfredo was run over.
Unfortunately, the person who hit Alfredo never stopped to help him, leaving him injured in the street.
Alfredo stayed there for weeks in agonizing pain before the rescuers finally found him and took him to the vet. He ended up having a broken spine and his feet were injured by dragging them. He was also severely emaciated and covered with ticks. In addition, it was also missing half an ear for unknown reasons.
Alfredo was rescued in July 2015 and spent time in many temporary homes, but unfortunately no one wanted to adopt him.
Due to the broken column, Alfredo has a wheelchair to get around. Despite his disability, Alfredo loves to run and play like any other dog.
He is such a sweet boy with a lot of energy, but four years later he is still looking for a forever home. He loves everyone he meets, including all dogs and even cats. He is very affectionate and loves to hug and rub his belly.
Since Alfredo is in a wheelchair, he needs to change his diaper every few hours, but it is an easy process for which he stands still.
The rescue will help and teach anyone who is willing to adopt Alfredo how to properly take care of him.
