Thousands of animals suffer every day the consequences of irresponsible acts on the part of humans, and this breaks our hearts. However, there are people who are always willing to help and change the lives of those incredible animals, and the story we are going to see today is a great example of that.
Honey, a female Beagle, was delivered to the Niagara’s SPCA to be sacrificed for being overweight. The little dog could barely move and was sitting in her own urine and feces at home.
Her owner had dementia and she fed Honey over and over and over again. After being fed constantly and not exercising, the dog gained 30 pounds. The elderly woman was convinced that the animal’s quality of life was compromised, and that euthanasia was the only option.
However, the shelter’s volunteers had other plans. Honey has undergone a rigorous diet and exercise plan. In addition, she also received medications for hypothyroidism.
Since it was very difficult for Honey to move, she faced a therapy which included an aquatic mat. Fortunately, the little dog began to lose weight quickly!
“I was impressed by how quickly this happened,” said Sue Cable, a volunteer at the SPCA.
The differences are already visible…
In six months, Honey lost almost 39 pounds!
The Beagle is almost ready to be adopted and find a loving family!
This is the proof that we should never give up on our pets. A little love and a lot of dedication can make all the difference, and Honey is an example of that. Share your incredible transformation with your friends and family!
