Even the most patient person can become exhausted due to the difficulties of air travel. It seems that the worst part of the vacation is reaching the destination. Long queues at airports, whining babies and late flights only add to everyone’s general frustration. For this mother of twins, the problems were even greater.
She was traveling alone with her children when something unexpected happened. It’s obvious that people get very angry when a baby starts crying on an airplane. So, when the mother of the newborn twins was about to be expelled from an airplane, no one helped her. A quiet, peaceful flight probably sounded much better than helping someone in need.
At first, Mackenzie was saddened by the situation that had taken place a few rows away.
Mother of twins is almost kick out of a flight
“Yesterday, this woman on my flight had twin babies, probably under 6 months, not so sure of the age. It was a very packed flight so they started taking carry on luggage to store under the plane. A gate worker took this woman’s car seat, meaning she would now have to hold both babies since they weren’t old enough to sit up on their own in a seat.”
As soon as the mother sat down, the stewardess told the woman that she could not hold the two babies – it would be a safety hazard. It seems that the original intention of the mother was for one of her twins to sit in the seat next to her, which airlines would allow if there were free seats on the flight.
As the flight was full, this poor mother was informed that she would have to leave. However, it didn’t take long for Mackenzie to restore her faith in humanity. A complete stranger spoke out and went to the rescue of this mother.
Woman restores faith in humanity
“A mother sitting in front of me, with permission from the other mother, volunteered to hold one of her babies for the entire flight. Keep in mind this was a flight that was supposed to be a quick 45 minutes. We ended up sitting on the tarmac for 2 1/2 hours! Without a complaint this woman fed the other woman’s baby, burped him.”
However, the “surrogate” mother had a daughter who was sitting on the bench next to her. Understandably, the girl was jealous of the new boy sitting on her mother’s lap, who was now getting all the attention.
“Her own daughter started crying. This mom, so calmly, went on to explain to her young daughter that “our job is to help other people. This mom is all by herself with no help, and really needs another mom to help.” She then went on to hold him, sing him songs, and then he slept the entire flight without even a cry.”
This is such a comforting story! The woman had no obligation to volunteer to help. Not only did she willingly do this, but she also taught her own daughter a lesson of humanity. The moral of this story is simple: when you see someone who needs help, do the right thing and help them! Surely karma will reward you.
