It was love at first sight when a man from Tucson, United States, saw a small dog for the first time. His large eyes and charming ears made the man immediately want to adopt him.
The new owner decided to call him Neo and the prospect of spending years with his new friend filled him with joy. However, there was something wrong. After a few days, the owner realized that Neo had a slightly different behavior from the other dogs.
Facebook – Wolf ConnectionHe was always very nervous and very shy around other people. And if the animal went out for a walk, he would begin to pee and stumble. One day Neo left the yard while his human was at work, and his instinct was to immediately see the other dogs. It seemed like he was trying to relate to them at all costs.
Although the man has put a very high fence around his garden, the dog still managed to leave the garden to visit other dogs in the neighborhood!
One day one of the neighbors, fed up with dog visits, took Neo to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, hoping his owner and shelter would find a solution to the dog’s behavior.
It was there that Maureen O’Nell, one of the staff at the shelter, understood that the animal wasn’t an ordinary dog!
“You know he’s not a dog?” Said Maureen.
In fact, Neo was a wolf in both appearance and behavior.
The clerk immediately contacted the owner to tell him that Neo was a wolf and that he needed special permission to own this type of animal. The young man was very surprised to hear the news and agreed to deliver Neo to the “Wolf Connection” in California, where he could live with other wolves in a reserve dedicated to them.
Neo was quarantined in the reserve because veterinarians had to make sure he had no diseases. Neo lacked companionship and, in particular, a pack!
Today he has finally found his place and the reserve staff has no doubt that he’s happier than ever!
The wolves are made to live in a group and we’re very happy that he has finally found his place. Share this incredible story with your friends and family!
