A six-year-old Pit Bull had a miserable start to her life. However, she is now living like a princess. All thanks to an American football player with a huge heart!
It all began in Baltimore, where rescue workers discovered the abandoned dog on an unoccupied property. The building had no electricity nor windows open. The poor girl, later named Winter, was dehydrated and her belly was deformed due to over-breeding.
After receiving some health care, she was placed for adoption at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Inc. (BARCS). Unfortunately, she was not attracting much interest.
One day her life changed
An enchanted prince entered the doors of the shelter. An NFL player, Ronnie Stanley, his girlfriend and teammate Alexander Lewis, went to the front desk and Stanley said, “We are looking for a dog that’s been here a long time and maybe not-so-adoptable.”
“Our BARCS team showed Ronnie and his girlfriend some pets. Winter was the lucky dog that caught Ronnie’s eye.”, Wrote the shelter.
According to the shelter: “He was much more interested in getting lots of face kisses from Winter and falling in love, rather than being worried about the appearance of her tummy. What a great guy!”
Ronnie and his girlfriend signed the adoption papers and took the dog home that very day. In addition, she was given a new name: Lola!
Ronnie is a supporter of animal adoption
The player has another rescue dog, Rico. In addition, it participates in events that encourage the adoption of animals.

“My dogs have been such a blessing. They’re loving, protective and have been great additions to the family. They’ve definitely made positive impacts on my life, and I want other people to experience the same impacts in their lives,” said Ronnie.
Lola and her new family now live happily ever after!
