Cancer survivor child is flower girl at her bone marrow donor’s wedding

When we save a person’s life, the relationship we have with them is simply inexplicable. One who is saved gets a feeling of love and gratitude. But, the one who saved, feels that the survivor is like a relative. That’s exactly what happened between a 3-year-old girl named Skye Savren-McCormick and her bone marrow donor, a 26-year-old named Hayden Hatfield Ryals.

The young woman decided to invite the child to be the flower girl at her wedding, which happened earlier this month. After giving Bone Marrow to Skye, in order for her to fight cancer, Hayden began to feel a special bond with the girl. “I always tell people they’re made for each other,” said the girl’s mother, Talia Savren McCormick. “Skye calls her Hay Hay,” she continued.

Talia said that, at the wedding ceremony, her daughter left “and picked up a handful of flowers that she threw on the floor.” “One of the bridesmaids said that everyone was crying,” she explained. Skye was diagnosed with Myelomonocytic Leukemia in March 2016, shortly after the age of 1. At the same time, she received a Bone Marrow transplant, a generous donation from Hayden. The last transplant in April 2017.

Without Hayden, Talia believes Skye would not have survived the disease. “She was so sick. I have the feeling that Hayden had a lot to do with Skye having been able to beat leukemia,” Talia said.

Talia and Hayden exchanged several messages, and the future bride even sent a gift to Skye on her third birthday. Within the present, there was a letter asking her to be the flower girl of his wedding, which took place on June 9.

After obtaining medical clearance, Skye and her parents traveled to Alabama. This was where Skye and Hayden met. “I came down and fell to my knees. All I could do was smile,” Hayden said. “She will be part of our lives forever. She saved my daughter’s,” Talia concluded.

Without Hayden, Skye probably would not be in this world to be a flower girl. Let’s share to show everyone how important it is to donate organs!
