In October 1990, Mugsy, a 4-year-old Jack Russell dog, was hit by a car near his owner’s house in Severna Park, Maryland. Mugy’s mother, Viola, was at work. And her boyfriend, Glenn, was taking care of his two little children.
Glenn realized what had happened and ran outside to find Mugy’s bloody … He took the poor puppy and watched him die in his arms. The man described the situation, saying that the animal was “really dead.” That is, he was not breathing and had no heartbeat!
Viola’s boyfriend told the children to stay indoors until he took Mugsy’s lifeless body to a wooded spot where he dug a hole and buried it. That night Viola came home from work and the whole family went to see the improvised grave. One of the children even said a tear drop! The next morning, they planned to put a wooden cross on the grave to honor their beloved dog. But, an incredible thing happened …
At 5:30 in the morning (14 hours after the horrible accident), Glenn and Viola heard the sound of scratching at the door. They could not believe his eyes … It was Mugsy wagging his tail! After all, the animal was still alive and dug the hole back to meet its humans. Fortunately, the animal did not get collateral damage and enjoyed a completely normal life!
