Elderly man finds terrified dog cornered by a flood – then he crosses the deep water to save him

For many people in the Houston area, the arrival of Hurricane Harvey meant leaving their homes and precious possessions behind. Some people were forced to flee and leave their loved ones, either to obtain supplies, help or for any other reason … However, some were not lucky enough to escape before the storm hit them and the rising water level became this extremely difficult escape.

Daniel and Sandra Grumbacher are a couple residing in Houston, who had to deal with Hurricane Harvey. You can see in the clip the shocking amount of water around your neighborhood. According to Daniel, during the storm about two to three inches of water per hour fell in his area.

That’s why they were shocked when they looked outside and saw a dog on the other side of the flooded street. The canine looked completely alone and did not know what to do. The only salvation of this animal were some sandbags that kept him on the surface!

Daniel knew he had to do something … He got some courage and faced the waters to rescue the poor dog, which he and his wife took care of at home for three days until his owner returned.

Despite the destruction caused by the hurricane, there are people who are always willing to help those who need it most, and Daniel was a great example of this. Thanks to the courage and determination of this man, the animal, which was in great danger of life, ended up having a happy ending!
