Hope For Paws got a call about a terrified and injured dog in desperate need of help.
A good Samaritan named Mike Badger fed the stray dog every day, and when he found Hope For Paws he knew they were the right people to call.
The man took Hope For Paws volunteers to the dog’s usual hideout, but he wasn’t there. They then saw him sleeping against a wall in the industrial area, which overlooked a parking lot and a busy street. They didn’t want the dog to go to the middle of the street, so they knew they had to be careful and act quickly.
The dog was so afraid that he fled as soon as he saw the rescue team coming toward him. They chased him across the parking lot and managed to catch him with a trap.
The dog screamed and tried to escape the trap, but he had no idea these people were here to help. Eventually, he calmed down and accepted some food from the rescuers.
They named him Masik and took him to the vet, where he was closely examined. Her body was covered with filthy tangled hair and fleas. He was so tangled that he underwent a deep anesthetic in order to shave it off.
X-rays also revealed that he had a crushed pelvis. Dr. Antonio Pedraza performed surgery to repair it, which was successful.
Masik is now recovering while living in a temporary home with LA Animal Rescue. He is much better now, but now all he needs is a home forever.
