The bonds that are born between dogs and their humans are greater than in any other species, without mentioning the fidelity that characterizes them. Living proof of this is evident in a puppy in Mexico that waits for his human being every day, but what he does not know is that he will never return.
Jacob is a mutt who, as a child, walked through the streets of Olivares, in the municipality of Hermosillo, in the state of Sonora.
A man who worked as a security guard adopted him as a puppy and took care of him every day.
The relationship between the two was full of love, the puppy spent almost his entire life with the good man.
The dog’s fidelity was out of the question, he would accompany him to work every day and wait for him on his way out to go home together.
What more could the little animal ask for?
He had a beautiful home, a family that filled him with love and affection, but one fateful night when the guard left to fulfill his duties, he met two people who were fighting, and when he tried to separate them, he was mortally wounded.
Jacob is still waiting for his dear friend every night, hoping to see him again. Every day he sits on the sidewalk and looks at the door to the place where his human worked. When night falls and tiredness overcomes him, he lies down and falls asleep.
Then, they pass away every day, and the infinite sorrow he feels is reflected on his face, and his body is already aged. A neighbor in the sector named Heydi Rivera realized what the animal is living and began to discover the causes that make it live this way.
Heydi is a dog lover and puts all her efforts to save them from the streets.
He was thrilled to hear of the sad events the faithful dog had to live through. Jacob was called Hachiko de Sonora, for the similarity of his case with what happened with the dog known Japanese, that for nine long years he waited for his human who died, in the railway station, where they always went after work.
“Jacob, every night he waits for his master in the surroundings of his work, as if he were waiting to see him leave and return home together. Seeing that his master never leaves, he retires and takes refuge on the sidewalk of a house,” commented Heydi.
The woman is very concerned about the life the solitary animal is leading, she is not having fun, she lives on the care that some people can give her and the risk she runs on the street is very great.
“He’s already been shot in the street and treated at the vet. I can feed him and the gentlemen of the house also offer leftovers, but that is not enough. He needs a home where a family can spend their last years feeling loved,” the woman said.
The original Hachiko, who waited years in the train station with his master.
Heydi and several neighbors are trying their best to get a family to adopt him. But Jacob is still waiting for his loving human being, faithfulness to all trials, that life will soon reward him.
