Dog that was caught being abandoned can’t stop smiling after being adopted

Just a few months ago, Snoop, the Staffordshire bull terrier, was the loneliest dog in the world.

His owner had left him, along with all the belongings of the dog, beside a road in England. And everything was filmed by a camera. The footage, which circulated on social media, shows poor Snoop running behind the car, clearly heartbroken for being alone.

After spending so much in the public eye, Snoop finally has something to smile about: he was adopted. His new father, Laurence Squire, could not be happier to be the lucky person who takes Snoop home.

“One night I was watching the news when Snoop’s story appeared,” Squire said in a statement. “What happened to him was shocking, and it was clear from the footage – the way he tried to get back into the car – that he was a loyal dog.”

Snoop is loyal – in fact, so loyal that his RSPCA rescues say he is prone to separation anxiety.

Fortunately, Snoop’s new father works from home so they can spend a lot of time together.

Snoop is living like a king

While only a few weeks ago, Snoop is already settling beautifully. And his new life could not be more perfect for him. Rachel Butler, a spokeswoman for the RSPCA, said Snoop seemed to be extremely comfortable with his new family on a recent home visit.

“The love and attention he’s getting now from Laurence are wonderful,” Butler said. “Snoop is living like a king.”

Snoop is napping, playing and running like the happy dog he always wanted to be. But still, he doesn’t let his new father stray too far from his vision.

“I thought that he seemed like the perfect dog for me and that I could offer him the home he deserved,” Squire said. “As soon as he came into the house for the first time, he jumped on the sofa and it was as though he decided that was the space for him! He loves to lie on the back of the sofa and, if I put the fire on, he will curl up in front of it.”
