A young Pit Bull mix named Avery was found abandoned in an extremely battered state in an alley-way in Los Angeles. She was spray-painted all over and was barely holding on to life, with severe wounds from a hateful assault.
Avery’s painful situation was shared by another dog, who died long before the Animal Hope and Wellness (AHW) rescue team arrived. The rescuers took Avery to the hospital, where she began to have frightening seizures of a concussion.
The agonizing state of Avery’s body drove everyone to cry. Her skinless, skeletal body was covered with scabies, she had a hole in her paw, chemical burns, and severe beating had damaged her organs. His neck had deep cuts, as if someone had tried to hang it by a sharp cord.
Somehow, doctors managed to reduce the swelling of the brain and begin treatment. AHW’s founder, Marc Ching, believes that a gang attack brought this suffering unimaginable to Avery. Police are investigating this animal cruelty case.
