Riley was adopted from a shelter in Big Bear, California, only 10 weeks old. His new mother was looking for a Golden Retriever, after losing her other dog, and was thrilled when Riley joined the family. From the beginning, Riley was always the sweetest dog and loved making friends with every new person he met. However, his mother had no idea how he would become popular.

As Riley is a sociable and friendly dog, he loves to hang his paws on the wall that surrounds his family’s patio, to watch his neighborhood.

“It was like paparazzi,” said Wendy Walden, Riley’s mother. “People stopped their cars and went out to film and take selfies.”

Not only do people love taking pictures of Riley as they pass, they also love to go and say hello to him.

For Riley, absolutely no one is a stranger. “He gives you an arm hug and when you try to leave, he pulls your arm tighter and does not let go,” Walden said.

If Riley sees someone passing by, he throws his ball on the ground to encourage people to come and play with him.

Riley is a local celebrity
John Berchtold, who recently posted a video of Riley on Twitter, was just visiting some friends in the neighborhood when he saw Riley hanging on the wall. The man immediately fell in love with the adorable dog, who was looking for attention.
This good wall-doggo dropped his ballo but fear not I returned it to him and thanked him for his service pic.twitter.com/ybsVME5xCp

“I saw Riley across the street and obviously freaked out because of how strikingly cute the sight was,” Berchtold said. “He threw the ball over the wall and the video was cut because I had to return the ball.”

Riley is the friendliest dog in the neighborhood
Riley’s family is delighted, as everyone loves pup as much as they do. The Golden Retriver is an incredibly friendly dog who loves to hug and leans over the wall to brighten the days of each passing person.
