Dogs are man’s best friends … but often humans do not deserve this friendship. How can anyone abandon their animals? This is something we can never understand. After being left in a kennel, this brokenhearted dog lost his will to live … until someone rescued him!
A Pit Bull named Blue King lived with a family in California for about a year. When their owners moved, they decided not to take the animal with them. So they delivered it to the Carson Shelter, a shelter that slaughters thousands of dogs and cats a year.
Ever since the broken-hearted dog arrived in the kennel, he only moaned with sadness. The dog didn’t even accept treats … the pain of being abandoned was so much that Blue King had lost his will to live, screaming as he looked through the bars of his cage.
A woman named Jennifer McKay noticed the sad animal, and decided to take a picture of him. The image shows a tear dripping from his eyes … poor baby! Because Carson Shelter was a slaughterhouse, the longer Blue King stayed there, the greater the chances of being euthanized.
Fortunately, some volunteers from an association called Saving Carson Shelter Dogs saw the photograph of Blue’s sad face and decided to help him. They put a video of the animal on Facebook of the organization, hoping that someone wanted to adopt.
The woman who captured the picture saw the video and decided to go back to the shelter to see the Pit Bull. “He looked very sad and depressed,” McKay said. “He did not even recognize me, all the other dogs were making eye contact and wagging their tails, but he did not get up, did not want to see me.
Moved with the broken hearted dog, McKay decided to adopt him. But the shelter needed to take a temper test before Blue King could get out of there.
While waiting for the test to be done, the woman went to visit the animal, and even offered her a new bed and a toy bone.
It was only the third time that the Pit Bull got excited about the visit. “He came directly to me!” Said McKay.
After a week, the temper test was ready and McKay could finally take the animal home. Outside the kennel, Blue King looked like a different dog.
“He tricked me,” McKay said with a laugh. “I was waiting to see a cool, laid-back dog, but as soon as the kennel cage opened, he became super excited, and he loved riding in the car, he wanted to keep his head out of the window.”
When they got home, the woman bathed the dog and took him on a walk. After that, the Pit Bull slept serene on the couch.
In addition to sleeping, Blue loves belly rubs, pampering and looking in the mirror!
Now your broken heart is getting back together!
“He just seems happy,” McKay said.
“I just got home from work yesterday, and he ran right at me, he’s just a good dog, I’m too excited for him to be part of the family.”
Finally this Pit Bull had a happy ending! Share if you were also moved by this story!
