There are really despicable people in the world who make nasty comments just for fun. That’s what happened to Vega Blossom, aged 19, on March 31st. The young lady went to her favorite bakery, Designer Desserts, to buy six cupcakes for Easter. However, while she was in line, she was called fat by two insensitive women.
Initially, the teen noticed that an older woman and her friend were making rude comments about the time the woman in front of the line was taking. Then, as Blossom approached the counter to make her request, she heard the women behind her making an incredibly rude remark – and this time it was about her.
Offensive comments at the bakery
“Let’s hope this fat b*** doesn’t buy all the cupcakes,” the woman scoffed. Blossom was very upset with that situation: “When I heard the unpleasant things that women said, I sincerely wanted to cry,” he said. “It really hurt my feelings.”
“How these adult women could be so bad to someone they’ve never met… Growing up as a chubby girl, I’ve always received malicious comments about my weight from people who, for some reason, think it’s their business,” continues Blossom.
Despite being hurt, the teen decided to make a perfect revenge: she went to the cashier and asked for all the cupcakes in the pastry! The women continued to mock Blossom while she paid for the cupcakes.
The bakery staff also heard the unacceptable things women said about Blossom’s weight, and they decided to give the young women extra biscuits and chocolates. As she left the bakery, the teenager also asked the women if they could help her open the door.
“I looked at the pair directly in the eyes and asked, ‘Could you please open the door for me? My hands are a little full,’ she explained. “Reluctantly, a woman held the door before following me out. I guess if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.”
Blossom shared the cookies with her friends, family and co-workers. Later that night, she went to Facebook to share her experience and it became viral, accumulating nearly 80,000 likes and 25,000 shares.
Story becomes viral
As the news began to spread over Blossom’s encounter at Designer Desserts, the bakery itself realized the situation and decided to take action. The bakery delivered cupcakes to the girl’s work to show support. But Designer Desserts didn’t stop there. They also shared on Facebook the story of the adolescent, so that their clients learned that bullying is not allowed on their company.
“This morning, a very unsettling occurrence was brought to my attention,” the bakery wrote. “Designer Desserts-Valparaiso is a zone free of intimidation and doesn’t tolerate such disgusting attitudes.” “My sincere apologies go to this beautiful young woman, and I can’t thank her enough for being such a loyal and incredible client, I’ll see you soon.”
Blossom’s story is a strong reminder that words hurt, and a lot. Although she was called fat and was very sad, she knew how to defend herself. The girl ended up taking all the cupcakes for revenge… besides the women having gone to the bakery in vain, the bakery’s staff still gave her cookies, chocolates and donuts.
No doubt a proof that there is still more good than evil in the world. Share if you agree!
