Nowadays, bullying is increasingly present among young people. Tired of hearing about children being bullied, Matthew Bandeira decided to have a social experience. He recruited three older teens to pretend they were bullying a boy in the park. The reaction of the people passing by surprised the world…
Matthew Bandeira set the stage in a park near a playground, and made three different experiences. In each of the three situations, there was an adult nearby.
How would adults react to these bullying situations? In his video, Matthew reveals that 28 percent of students between the ages of 12 and 18 say they are bullied at school. In addition, 160,000 children avoid attending classes for fear of their colleagues… completely scary numbers!
The first person to be exposed to bullying is a mother who was watching her children play in the park. At that point, one of the three teenagers hired for the experiment took the boy’s backpack and threw it away. Then he took his soccer ball.
But this mother was not going to let the boy be intimidated in her presence. She walked toward the teenagers and confronted them with their intimidation. Would you have done the same?
After this mother, they experimented with a woman looking at her cell phone, and also with a man on a park bench reading something on the tablet. How did they react to the social experiment? Find out in the video below!
