Blind dog finds comfort in a beautiful friendship with kitten

If you think that cats and dogs are fierce enemies and cannot be seen or painted, today we bring you a story that will make you rethink that banal conception, but at the same time, light years away from reality.

This is the case of Spike and Max. The former is a puppy with blindness and Max, his faithful feline friend.

They are like the dynamic duo, closer than Bonnie & Clyde. They are friends and accomplices, but beyond that, the noble kitty has contributed a lot to make his dog’s life more bearable.

“The cat helped him in his adventure for survival. They follow each other everywhere, do everything together, and sleep snugly”. They say about Spike and Max.

Both complement each other in a beautiful and very particular way.

Spike is 8-years-old and Max, the same age, and they have been together all their lives.

Both were simultaneously dropped off at the Saving Grace Animal Society in Alix, an animal welfare organization based in Alberta, Canada.

They have never been separated for a second. They are the best comrades one could ever want to have. However, their original managers came to the conclusion that they could no longer care for them the way they needed to; in fact, the two animals slept outdoors.

“We received a call about an older dog and cat on a property. They told us that given the cold temperatures, they honestly didn’t know if they would have the right quality of life and be able to provide for them in the best way”, said Erin Deems, executive director of Saving Grace Animal Society, to local media.

Spike is totally dependent on Max for movement. The feline is his eyes, his unconditional guide and trustworthy canine. According to Deems, the cat has helped him a lot to move forward, they go anywhere together. Even when they go for a walk, Max frees himself a bit, but Spike desperately seeks him out.

And since they are inseparable, they will both be referred for adoption in the same way.

Deems commented that the animals will stay at the shelter until they can find a family willing to take them in.

This pair of creatures entered the shelter as friends, but they have become more than brothers. In Max’s company, he will ease the transition to Spike, so that, yes or yes, there has to be someone with a good heart willing to take them in combo. To separate this friendship would be unthinkable and even a crime.

Even the best friends aren’t fully prepared to leave the hostel. They still need a full medical check-up to make sure they are both healthy.

For its part, the Protector has promised to report on the progress of the animal duo and, of course, they will start their social media accounts when they are fully recovered and strong, suitable for a new home.

Unconditional, mutual love, and surrender know no boundaries or species. Share this emotion and story to help these exemplary friends find their dream home.
